Where to find related Apps & Media

When on Ziyarat, most people like to take along their iPods, iPads, iPhones and related technology that allows them to access their media files; and conduct their supplications with the ease that 21st Century technology offers. And who wouldn’t? No heavy dua books to pack and lug around. So for the more technologically-inclined-gadget-wielding Zawwar among us, a good place to source related apps would be Shia Mobile. Downloads are freely available.

We would recommend Duas.org and Shia Drive if you are looking to find something very specific, in the way of Duas, Surahs from the Holy Qur’aan, or even Majalises.

It helps to listen to some of your favorite Nohas along the way, to set the tone. We find the best website for that to be Azadaari.com,

FarajGroup & the Community

Ziyarat begins with the yearning to step on the same piece of earth that our Imams once stood on. To breathe the air they once took in. To see where they lived. To imagine maybe, just maybe you may have touched something that they once held. To feel their spiritual presence by being as close to to whatever that is left of them on this Earth as possible. To experience the overwhelming sense of love and deep sense of loss that engulfs and connects those who are blessed enough to step on that land. And yet, those who return are always thirsting for more. Always praying they are able to return. Just one last time.

This section is dedicated to trying to quell that thirst. To ease that yearning. By educating, inspiring and empowering ourselves to further the cause of our Imams (a.s). Watch this space to see how you can participate.

Be a Part of the Najaf Campaign

Najaf Campaign is a charity based in Iraq with roots all around the world.

Faraj Group has had the opportunity to visit one of the Najaf campaign sites and see the poverty of these shias in true light. Our hearts go out to those children who hold onto your clothes asking for nothing but some water on a hot scorching day. You are brought to tears as another child says the one thing he wants is a soccer ball so he can prepare himself physically for the reappearance of the 12th Imam. The individuals living in these sites are individuals just like you and me, who have been displaced due to the unrest in Iraq. We, as fellow shias feel that the least we can do is support them in any way we can.
